About Me!
Hi! I'm in grade 10,have no filter, smartish and watch way too TV. In my spare time I enjoy dancing and playing the piano. I also enjoy going to see movies with my friends and of course, taking photos. This is now my second year taking photography. It's a class that I really enjoy because I'm not a very artistic person and am very bad at drawing, so this allows me to be artistic in a different way. I still have lots to learn about Photoshop and taking photos, but I try to utilize the skills I know now and try to make my photos the best possible.
Term One Reflection
Term one has gone by very fast. I have enjoyed photography this term and have learned lots of new skills. One of the new things I learned this year was doing levitation photography. That was the first project we did and I thought it was very cool. It's not very hard to achieve your final product and when people look at it they think it's the coolest thing. When I was smooshing my photos together for this assignment I learned that you really want to make sure the lighting is the same in both photos. I also learned that you want to have some shadows so that it doesn't look fake. One way to do that is to use the burn tool in Photoshop, or you can use a light or the sun.
Our second project this term was our portrait project. I loved this project! I thought it was such a great way to experiment taking portraits because we got to use the studio. I had never used the lights in the back room before so it was a great learning experience. Another reason why I liked this project so much was because we actually got to go out and take photos. Lots of the previous projects I've done were very Photoshop based, which I enjoyed for improving my Photoshop skills, but I'm glad that this project required us to go and take photos.
Before I took photography, I thought photos were simply just photos. But I've enjoyed learning about all the ways you can create a good photo. I enjoy this class because we can really express our creativity and have fun with it.
Next term I really want to work on trying different camera settings. I tend to use TV and AV the most because I know how to use them the best and they're in my comfort zone. I really want to work on using different ones and seeing what kind of photos I can capture with them
